LONGBOAT KEY, FL – The Residences at the St. Regis Longboat Key, a hotel and condominium project that represents one of the biggest construction endeavors in the region since the 1970s, is currently progressing on schedule its for its anticipated 2024 completion, according to the developer.
The $800 million project has been in the works for two-and-a-half years, and will consist of a total of five buildings, all of which are currently in some stage of the construction process.
Situated upon a 17.6-acre plot of land that was previously home to the Colony Beach and Tennis Resort which closed in 2010, the Residences at the St. Regis Longboat Key will be made-up of a five-story hotel on the property’s northern end, in addition to three five-story condominium buildings on its south side. In addition, a centrally located one story amenities building accessible by all residents is also in the works.
In an effort not to cause traffic congestion in Longboat Key – In addition to not having access to a local parking lot – the project’s developer has been having the approximately 500 workers who show up to the construction site daily park off-site in a garage at nearby St. Armands Circle, where they are then shuttled back and forth throughout the day as needed.
At its anticipated 2024 completion, the project will include 166 hotel rooms and 69 condominiums ranging in size from 1,553 square-feet to 5,895 square-feet. Some of the high-end amenities slated for the project include 42 bodies of water – including private pools – and four water features that will include a saltwater lagoon, hotel pool, and a lazy river.
